HOW DO I ENROL MY CHILD?

Go to the Our Programs tab and click the type of care you are looking for. Then select the school you would like to register with. Once you’ve completed the form, Star Club will send you an email with instructions on how to finalise the enrolment in our child care management system, Xplor.

When enrolling, the primary carer should be the person claiming subsidies, if applicable, so please ensure you complete the correct CHILD and PARENT date of birth and Customer Reference Numbers (CRN) in order to claim the child care subsidy. Remember the CRN’s are two INDEPENDENT numbers which can be received through Centrelink.

WHAT IS XPLOR?

Xplor is the child care management system that Star Club use which stores the enrolment details and is through which payments are direct debited. Primary carers must register with Xplor prior to their child attending.

Once registered download the Xplor Home app from the Apple store or Google Play

HOW DO I PAY MY FEES?

Once you have registered, you will need to set up your direct debit details in Xplor. Then Star Club will automatically debit what is owing from your account. Star Club charge on a fortnightly basis and two weeks in advance.

Invoices are not emailed or posted. Instead, parents can download and review their statements 24/7 via their Xplor account on the Xplor Home app or at https://home.myxplor.com/

HOW WILL I RECEIVE MEMOS AND IMPORTANT MESSAGES FROM STAR CLUB?

In line with our sustainability policy, we will communicate to parents mainly through email, so please ensure you let us know if your email changes. The Parent Handbook will be emailed to parents on enrolment and digital copies of the policies are available to be shared with families.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PERMANENT AND CASUAL BOOKINGS?

Permanent bookings are consistent sessions booked in advance for a period of time at a lower rate, securing your child’s spot at Star Club. They require at least two week’s notice to be changed or cancelled.

Casual bookings are one off sessions booked as the need arises, pending availability. They are charged at a slightly higher rate and can be cancelled any time.

HOW MANY SPACES ARE AVAILABLE AT STAR CLUB?

This varies from school to school. Depending on the amount of indoor and outdoor play space available for use, numbers can be limited so please book well in advance if you require after school care.

HOW DO I CLAIM FOR THE CHILD CARE SUBSIDY (CCS)?

Families need to claim using their Centrelink online account through myGov. You will need to provide details including:

1. Your combined family income
2. Activity level of each parent
3. Type of child care service

For more information visit https://www.education.gov.au/ChildCarePackage

When you have completed your claim and enrolled your child into Star Club, you will need to complete a Complying Written Agreement in your Xplor account.

WHAT IS A COMPLYING WRITTEN AGREEMENT (CWA)?

For families eligible for rebates, the CWA is a Government requirement that simply shows the sessions that you have booked with Star Club and asks you to agree to it. This then gets sent to the Government to process.

Once a CWA has been submitted you also need to confirm the enrolment in your Centrelink account.

If your child has a Government enrolment with Star Club but does not attend for 8 weeks or more, for example, during vacation care or casual bookings, the Government will cease the enrolment and you will need to complete another CWA if you’d like to continue claiming rebates.

WHAT ACTIVITIES WILL MY CHILD PARTICIPATE IN?

There are a wide variety of experiences offered to children each afternoon. These are often initiated by children or set up to extend on a child’s interest. Experiences may include creative activities, sport, games, drama, music, dance, construction, cooking homework and outdoor play. Experiences are offered with consideration to the children’s various ages and developmental stages.

IS THERE SUPERVISED FREE PLAY FOR CHILDREN WHO WISH NOT TO PARTICIPATE IN ACTIVITIES?

Free play is valued as an important part of the children’s program. Children are encouraged to exercise choice in the activities they wish to be involved in and this includes spontaneous, pre-planned, child-initiated, teacher-guided or free play activities.

DO THE CHILDREN COMPLETE HOMEWORK WHILST AT STAR CLUB?

This will be discussed with parents and children throughout the year to ensure all parties express their preferences in regards to homework. Homework is considered an important part of children’s schooling, however we will ensure children gain a balance between homework and sport/leisure experiences.

DOES MY CHILD NEED TO BRING ANYTHING ALONG TO AFTER SCHOOL CARE?

Children are required to bring their after school snack, a water bottle and a sun hat.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF I AM RUNNING LATE TO PICK UP MY CHILD BY THE TIME STAR CLUB CLOSES?

Our late pick-up policy states that staff must be contacted as soon as a parent knows they will be late to pick up their child. A late fee will be charged for pick-up after the closure time. This is $15 for each interval of 15 minutes (or part thereof). The late fee will appear on your next invoice.

IF I AM RUNNING LATE, CAN I AUTHORIZE SOMEONE ELSE TO PICK UP MY CHILD?

Our policies state that it is fine to authorise someone else to pick up your child, as long as you let us know IN WRITING before the person arrives. An email or text message will suffice. The authorised person may be asked by staff to present identification on pick-up.
