Excursion Information
Wednesday 17th April - Calmsley Hill City Farm (31 Darling Street, Abbotsbury NSW 2176)
Min. ratio 1:12. Anticipated # of children: 90-100. Anticipated # of educators: 9-10. Private bus. Arrive at school 8:30 am for 9:00 am departure. Approx. arrival at Calmsley Hill City Farm, Abbotsbury 10:00am. The children will explore Calmsley Hill City Farm in a self guided tour and have the opportunity to watch a variety of life farm work demonstrations, such as sheep shearing, muster dogs at work etc. Calmsley Hill City Farm, Abbotsbury at 2:00 pm for approx. school arrival at 3:00 pm. A risk assessment has been prepared for the excursion and transport, and is available to view.
Friday 19th April - Royal Botanic Gardens (Mrs Macquaries Rd, Sydney NSW 2000)
Min. ratio 1:12. Anticipated # of children: 90-100. Anticipated # of educators: 9-10. Arrive at school 8:45am for 9.30am departure. Approx. arrival at Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney at 10:15am. The children will engage in a nature scavenger hunt around Sydney’s Royal Botanic Gardens and enjoy a BYO picnic with a view over Sydney Harbour. Depart Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney at 2:00pm for approx. school arrival at 2:45pm. A risk assessment has been prepared for the excursion and transport, and is available to view.
Tuesday 23rd April - Manhattan Super Bowl & Lionel Bowen Park (549 Gardeners Rd, Mascot NSW 2020 / Coward St, Mascot NSW 2020)
Min. ratio 1:12. Anticipated # of children: 90-100. Anticipated # of educators: 9-10. Private bus. Arrive at school 8:45am for 10:15am departure. Approx. arrival at Manhattan Super Bowl, at 10:30am. One group of children will be engaging in a game of bowling, while the other group will be engaging in physical activities at Lionel Bowen Park. Both groups will enjoy a BYO picnic lunch at the park, before the second groups walks to the bowling venue. Depart Manhattan Super Bowl at 2:30pm for approx. school arrival at 2:45pm. A risk assessment has been prepared for the excursion and transport, and is available to view.
What to bring:
- Morning tea and lunch with accompanying drinks for the day. Breakfast (until 8am) and afternoon tea are provided. Cooking experiences may be held during the day. Please remember when packing your child's lunch that we are a NUT FREE Service.
- Jumper, hat, enclosed shoes, water bottle, spare change of clothes. Children must wear closed shoes but can bring open shoes for suitable activities.

What to do each day:
- Drop off/pick up your child via the Page St gate. There is a sign at the gate with a phone number if the gate is unattended.
- Advise staff if your child will be absent by emailing the office. Or by sending your absence notification via the Xplor Home app.
- Adhere to our health policy by keeping unwell children at home.
- Dress your child in comfortable ‘play’ clothes suitable for active and sometimes messy activities.
- Label all items (clothing, bag, hat, water bottle etc.)
- Collect your child by 6.00pm to avoid the late fee of $20 per 15 minutes or part thereof.
- Email the office if your authorised contacts/pick-up persons have changed.
Health & Additional Needs
It is imperative that you advise Star Club if your child has:
- Any allergies or health concerns.
- Any additional needs (such as ASD, ADHD, Global Development Delay etc.), diagnosed or undiagnosed.
- Notify us of any changes to allergy/health requirements for your child.
- Notify us of any medication required while at Star Club, prior to attendance.
- A child's booking may not be processed, unless adequate information and documentation is not provided.
Safety, supervision, transport & risk assessments:
Star Club have strict safety and supervision procedures and policies available to view upon request. Children are encouraged to actively work with educators to implement and follow all safety guidelines. Risk assessments have been prepared for all incursions and excursions, including transport, and are available to view upon request.
Full day program:
A full day program is offered with a variety of activities in addition to featured incursions and excursions. Programs are displayed daily.
Group size:
Anticipated # of children is 60-120 and # of staff is 6-12. Star Club's guideline is a 1:15 educator to child ratio and can range from 1:12 to 1:8 for excursions. For exact numbers refer to excursion information and roster on display.
Weather conditions:
If rain is light, excursions may still be attended. Some activities may be cancelled at late notice if weather conditions are adverse. Families will be notified via email. Alternate activities will be provided if an excursion is cancelled.
Daily activity:
Activities may be changed or cancelled at the last minute due to circumstances beyond our control. In this situation, we will endeavour to provide a suitable replacement and notify parents.
Behaviour:
A child's bookings may be terminated if they demonstrate repeated unacceptable behaviour or behaviour which may pose a safety risk to others.
Money/belongings:
Please do not allow your child to bring money, electronic devices, bikes or scooters to vacation care. Electronic devices and bikes/scooters may only be brought if specified as part of the program. Star Club and its staff are not responsible for personal possessions if children choose to bring them to the service.
Cost & Child Care Subsidy:
Daily fees are as listed.
All daily fees may be discounted through the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) scheme, if eligible. Enrolment fees are additional.
Payment method:
Direct Debit is the ONLY method of payment available. Direct Debit information must be updated in your Xplor Home online account (home.myxplor.com) before a booking can be confirmed. Accounts at all services must be in order.
Cancellation policy:
Two weeks written notice must be given if you wish to withdraw your child from a booked session. If this notification is not given, full fees will be charged, even if the withdrawal is due to Covid-19.
