Tuesday 5th July - Indigenous Cultural Experience La Perouse Museum (1542 Anzac Pde, La Perouse) & Yarra Bay (67-69 Yarra Rd, Phillip Bay)
Min. ratio 1:10. Anticipated # of children: 60-90. Private bus. Arrive at school 8:45am for 9.30am departure. Approx. arrival at La Perouse Museum, 10:00am. The children will engage in a guided tour through La Perouse Museum, followed by a bush walk to Yarra Bay. Depart Yarra Bay at 2:30pm for approx. school arrival at 3:00pm. A risk assessment has been prepared for the excursion and transport, and is available to view.
Thursday 7th July - Wild Spirit Aerial (1/42 William St, Botany) & Gaiarine Gardens (Banksia St, Pagewood)
Min. ratio 1:10. Anticipated # of children: 60-90. Walking / Private bus (wet weather only!). Arrive at school 8:30am for 9:00am departure. Approx. arrival at Wild Spirit Aerial, 9:30am. The children will have the opportunity to test their circus skills followed by lunch at Gaiarine Garden. Depart Wild Spirit Aerial at 2:00pm for approx. school arrival at 2.30pm. A risk assessment has been prepared for the excursion and transport, and is available to view.
Monday 11th July - Ultimate Jiu Jitsu (446 Bunnerong Rd, Matraville) & Barwon Park (Franklin St, Matraville)
Min. ratio 1:10. Anticipated # of children: 60-90. Private bus. Arrive at school 8:45am for 9:30am departure. Approx. arrival at Ultimate Jiu Jitsu, 9:45am. The children will be learning basic Jiu Jitsu movements, followed by picnic lunch at Barwon Park. Depart Ultimate Jiu Jitsu at 2:30pm for approx. school arrival at 3.00pm. Wednesday 13th July – The Brightspace & Circle Music (1371 Botany Rd, Botany) & Booralee Park (Bay St & Daniel St, Botany)
Min. ratio 1:10. Anticipated # of children: 60-90. Private bus. Arrive at school 8:45am for 9:30am departure. Approx. arrival at The Brightspace & Circle Music, 9:50am. The children will be engaging in art and music experiences. They will also enjoy a lunch picnic at Booralee Park. Depart The Brightspace & Circle Music at 3:00pm for approx. school arrival at 3.20pm. A risk assessment has been prepared for the excursion and transport, and is available to view.
Friday 15th July - Museum of Fire, Penrith (1 Museum Dr, Penrith)
Min. ratio 1:10. Anticipated # of children: 60-90. Private bus. Arrive at school 8:30am for 9:00am departure. Approx. arrival at Museum of Fire, Penrith, 10:30am. The children will participate in firefighting adventures and learn about fire safety. Depart Museum of Fire, Penrith at 2:00pm for approx. school arrival at 3.30pm. A risk assessment has been prepared for the excursion and transport, and is available to view.
Monday 18th July – Movie at Hoyts Eastgardens (152 Bunnerong Rd, Eastgardens) & Chauvel Green Park (10 Oscar Pl, Eastgardens)
Min. ratio 1:10. Anticipated # of children: 60-90. Walking / Private bus (wet weather only!). Arrive at school 8:45am for 9:30am departure. Approx. arrival at Hoyts Eastgardens, 9:50am. The children will enjoy a movie with popcorn, followed by a picnic lunch at Chauvel Green Park playground. Depart Hoyts Eastgardens at 2:00pm for approx. school arrival at 2.30pm. A risk assessment has been prepared for the excursion and transport, and is available to view.
What to bring:
1. Morning tea and lunch with accompanying drinks for the day. Breakfast (until 8am) and afternoon tea are provided. Cooking experiences may be held during the day as additional meals. Please remember when packing your child's lunch that we are a NUT FREE Service.
2. Jumper, hat, enclosed shoes, water bottle, spare change of clothes. Children must wear closed shoes but can bring open shoes for suitable activities.
3. A big smile!
What to do each day:
1. Drop off/pick up your child via the Dalley Ave gate. There is a sign at the gate with a phone number if the gate is unattended.
2. Advise staff if your child will be absent by emailing the office.
3. Adhere to our health policy by keeping unwell children at home.
4. Dress your child in comfortable ‘play’ clothes suitable for active and sometimes messy activities.
5. Label all items (clothing, bag, hat, water bottle etc.)
6. Notify us of any changes to allergy/health requirements for your child.
7. Collect your child by 6.00pm to avoid the late fee of $15 per 15 minutes or part there of.
8. Email the office if your authorised contacts/pick-up persons have changed.
Safety, supervision, transport & risk assessments:
Star Club have strict safety and supervision procedures and policies which are available to view onsite or on request. The children are encouraged to actively work with educators to implement these and follow all safety guidelines. Risk assessments have been prepared for all incursions and excursions, including transport, and are available to view onsite or on request, as is our Covid-19 Risk Management Plan.
Full day program:
A full day program is offered with a variety of activities in addition to featured incursions and excursions. Programs are displayed daily.
Group size:
Anticipated # of children is 60-90 and # of staff is 4-10. Star Club’s guideline is a 1:15 educator to child ratio and can range from 1:12 to 1:8 for excursions. For exact numbers refer to excursion information and roster on display.
Weather conditions:
If rain is light, excursions may still be attended. Some activities may be cancelled at late notice if weather conditions are adverse. Families will be notified via email. Alternate activities will be provided if an excursion is cancelled.
Daily activity:
Activities may be changed or cancelled at the last minute due to circumstances beyond our control. In this situation, we will endeavour to provide a suitable replacement and notify parents. On days where there is an incursion/excursion option, if minimum numbers are not met for each option, then one may be cancelled and all children will do the same incursion/excursion.
Behaviour:
As per Star Club policy, Star Club reserves the right to exclude a child from the program if they demonstrate repeated unacceptable behaviour or behaviour which may pose a safety risk to others.
Money/belongings:
Please do not allow your child to bring money, electronic devices, bikes or scooters to vacation care. Electronic devices and bikes/ scooters may only be brought if specified as part of the program. Star Club and its staff are not responsible for personal possessions if children choose to bring them to the service.
Cost & Child Care Subsidy:
Daily fees are as listed.
All daily fees may be discounted through the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) system, if eligible. If it has not been done already, you must submit a Complying Written Agreement for your child(ren)’s Pagewood Public School Xplor profile, then confirm the enrolment in your MyGov/Centrelink account.
Payment method:
Direct Debit is the ONLY method of payment available. Your Direct Debit information must be updated in your Xplor Home online account (home.myxplor.com) before a booking can be confirmed and accounts at all services must be up to date.
Late Booking Fees:
For bookings within 24 hours of a session, you will be charged an additional $5 per child.
For bookings the morning of the session, you will be charged an additional $20 per child. Confirmation is subject to availability.
For walk-ins without a confirmed booking, you will be charged an additional $20 per child.
Cancellation policy:
Two weeks written notice must be given if you wish to withdraw your child from a booked session. If this notification is not given, full fees will be charged, even if the withdrawal is due to Covid-19
